Ah, you should have made it clearer that you were talking about the Dems gaining a majority in the Texas House. The vague statement led to a reasonable assumption you were talking about statewide races.

On the former point, the Dems gaining a majority in the Texas House, my own impression is that the long standing problem of getting out the Hispanic vote remains the key issue.

But neither of us has a granular reading of the state districts.
