"If a business cannot pay $15 it shouldn't be in business"

If you raise it to $15 too fast, they won't be. Those businesses won't be in my state, cuz we're basically there. They'll all be in the (red) states at the bottom, and they won't be Walmart and McDonalds in the burbs; they'll be small businesses in small towns..

"What you have failed to understand, or accept?, is that society's needs take precedent over individual needs for good reason"

Society isn't the one paying the wage. If you want it to, tinker with earned income tax credits, and such, and pay low-wage workers from the treasury. We just did something like that in the covid bill.

You can quit looking for states which raised rates 2 bucks/year in multiple consecutive years; there aren't any. If the 5th largest economy in the world didn't dare try that experiment, the poorest states shouldn't be doing it.
