I think this is just a tremendous buying opportunity for CEI. Whatever the structure, CEI will probably outperform all other REIT's except for individual sectors in a strong recovery (I.E. Hotels for the last 5 years). I also think the REIT lobby is too powerful to just roll over and let this legislation go beyond the paired-share REIT's. Barron's seemed to feel so also, but they thought they would fight for the paired-shares to retain their exemptions. I don't know if 200 REIT's will support the other 4 or 5.
I have tripled my position in the last week on CEI and will probably add to it when momentum turns positive again in a week or two.
