A quick side note. I finished the Japanese series you suggested. My view of Japan may have been too idealistic if any part of that movie is true. It was a nice break from the ordinary but I had to read the whole thing which meant I couldn't do anything else while I was watching it and that drove me nuts...haha

I just wrote a comment on the how they gave oligarchs complete control of the government with Citizens United. The dumbing down of their voters is still something I don't understand. They can lie about anything and everything and it seems normal.

When someone asks them why they lie repeatedly they say something like, "Because I can."
