It’s hard to pick a single moment from the Trump presidency, but one that’s been buried beneath so many other horrible moments was Trump’s interaction with Nobel Prize winner Nadia Murad. The entire time this woman was telling him about how she was tortured and raped while being held captive by ISIS, Trump had this bored and disinterested look on his face the entire time. When she explains that her mother and six brothers were murdered by ISIS and had been dumped in the mass graves there, President Airhead here immediately asked (literally a second later) where they are now, to which she had to reiterate that they killed them. The only time he was even remotely engaged with what was happening was when he brought up the fact that she won the Nobel Prize and asked her to explain why she got it. She did, and then Trump basically downplayed her accomplishment by saying, “Oh, so you escaped.” This was clearly out of his own jealousy over the fact Trump never won the Nobel Prize, something that’s grated on him for years ever since President Obama received it. Just this past December, Trump actually tweeted out a video of himself with an image of the Nobel Prize emblem superimposed over it despite the fact he has never received this prize. He’s clearly very upset over this and harbors resentment over those who do win.
