You might be one of a handful of posters on this site that know what this watch is! It dates to very early in my collecting career. Thought about it but ultimately decided against as it diverged too much my goals. Never regretted the pass and still a cool watch. That's one thing I've learned in the last 20 year bull market in watches, that one can appreciate and respect a timepiece and its engineering without actually owning it. In 2001 it was all about my buy lists.

Are there any brands or themes that you collect in particular? I'm all over the map and at this would likely pare down many into a large buy and keep some heirloom pieces. But I still have as much fun with new $200 watches as I do with new $40k watches.

Here's a great example, should be bought with coupons, likely much cheaper used, designed to be fashionable for blind people but looks and works great for sighted people as well. Uses rare earth magnets for the time telling balls. I've gotten as many random comments and compliments wearing this watch as I did wearing my UN Freak back in the day!

Another one that pleasantly surprised me is this, large diameter but very thin and elegant. Both are quartz movement but reasonably priced with online coupons or on sale.
