Republicans didn't complain about the cages under Obama because they didn't exist

Obama built the cages and put children in them. Also, Obama made no effort to stop child trafficking and molestation by not separating the kids from their traffickers. Also, Obama allowed a huge rape crisis of women at the border.

These weren't Obama's goals. They were collateral damage in the Democrats' zeal for permanent single party rule over America.
