There shall be no war.
LOL !!! It appears, then, that there has been a miscalculation ?
Can't have it both ways. I'd put that issue squarely in reference to prior post... about too obvious lies about obvious things fooling no one... other than the liar, perhaps...
There shall be a war. It exists already... no one is unaware... its acceleration made inevitable by choices already committed. War changes which rules apply... under the (hard won) rules based system that we have... the safety and certainty of which the vast majority of the world prefers. But, war also changes... focus... and expectations along with the metrics applied in measuring success. Thresholds... have a role... and value... in both real, physical, and practical sense... and in the virtual sense in relation to virtual boundaries in things like decisions and choices... if they are not already fixed, determined, judged, and accepted as rules. Without war, business as usual... With war, war is the only business.
Lines have been crossed... can't be uncrossed... which does not control expression... but tables a fact.
Fact imposes and invokes metrics.
Fact, even in producing Inevitabliity, does not impose linearity... but, to succeed, the fact must be owned.
"Diplocmacy" likely to begin soon... ? I'm not sure there is capacity for it now. Opportunities there lost... so war it is.
Obvious lies... used to mask less obvious ones ? Or, maybe ifs just reassuring to tell them... and pretend others are fooled by them ? All of that is foolishness. Not all assertions, once made, share the character of being able to be "re-crafted" as a piece of text... with the impact changed by being rewritten.
You can change your mind about an expression... but changing it matters little if you're already physically on the wrong side of the line that matters when you make the attempt in changing an interpretation... and are obviously committed, in any case, to some larger error in opposite of the expression.
We shall Xi...
But, have noted... I'm not impressed. I think it inordinately foolish to assert highly improbable outcomes as necessary conditions... as demanding that "leopards must grow tiger stripes, or else its war"... as a means to redress and satisfy some arbitrarily and artificially determined "insult which cannot be ignored". Simply redrawing accepted lines... which lines you have commited to accept... is pure sophism.
But, once committed to that path of sophistry... improbablity be damned... that virtual line drawn, however foolish, becomes real enough... and in very real ways... to those depending on the improbable but "expected" outcomes in result of conflict created by irrational demands... generating irrational expectations. None of which makes me think it useful to humor any part of the effort made...
But, the element of skin in the game explains why such foolishness prevails long beyond reason... as, for some, being forced into accepting obvious truths... or errors... is akin to a death sentence.
That another reason that systems based in reason are superior to those based purely in force... as the product of force is more easiily divorced from reason (and is thus more prone to error)... than the voluntary product of reason is able to be divorced from reason... Force is a poor substitute for reason... but it works best in preventing the awareness that the force applied... comes at the expense of disabled cognition.
China has chosen an approach... that cannot succeed. Posturing thus, while Intending failure, perhaps, too... but still deluding no one into expecting success in the primary. But, then, even a degree of success in enabling that improbable outcome... does China more harm than it does others ?
China, hacking at its own root... expects it will be the forest that will die... or be forced into submission.
Will be interesting to see how rapidly escalation occurs once shooting starts...
Stock up on iodine ?
A clown pushed out in front of a parade... is "leading" the parade... in some sense. But, the parade has a tendency to sustain itself without caring about... or having any awareness of... the clown up front "leading" while claiming credit: for the work others have done enabling it... or for the product of the work in result of others planning and leadership. Once the parade begins... the festival queen on her float... is a part of the spectacle, only... along for the ride... ruling nothing that matters. And if the clown dons the garb of the drum major... and mimics his behavior without deviation... is he a clown... or a drum major ? And, does it make any difference to participants in the parade... what the clown... or the drum major... or the fesitval queen... is doing at the front of the line ? The parade will proceed... as it does... without regard to the dictates of clowns, drum majors, or fesitval queens...
As it has always been...
Of course, no matter how well organized the event, and in spite of leaders best efforts, there is also room for error in the assumption that plans and events will proceed as intended... of their own volition...
As it has always been...
And, then, war, just like a parade, has its outcome dependent on the routines of planning and practice, with effort in the maintenance of the cohesion of the organization at its core...
As it has always been...
