Two elements in error... that combine to a third...
The first is in assuming Israel and Iran are political equivalencies... when they are not...
Iran is ruled by force... not elections... as a monopoly is imposed. It is the political side of the same coin in monopoly... where a free market requires no obstructions to participation. So does a free country. Without it being a free country... Iran will never produce moderate leadership...
The only path Israel has to enable the not war like people of Iran to select more moderate leadership... is to re-enable the ability of the people of Iran to require that there be no obstructions to them doing so. How do you propose Israel should do that ?
An insertion in the middle here... as this applies in the U.S., too... where the left pretend the right is biasing outcomes in elections by imposing obstructions to participation based on race (blaming Republicans for what Democrats used to do when they ran politics in the South)... while the left is actually doing so... by infringing first amendment rights in the public square... biasing the news... and changing the rules to facilitate their own practice of fraud... while encouraging fraud and protecting those engaged in it... also including by breaking the border in the hope that new immigrants will be easily co-opted into "voting for them"... Note: the logic doesn't play favorites... Democrats are cheating every which way possible... to hold on to power... by imposing obstructions for opponents... while removing them (even including enforcement against those violating law) for fellow partisans...
Israel is also ruled by elections... but between elections, ruled by those elected. Those seeking power... will make any outrageous claim in the hope it helps them win elections. That always makes it useful to be both aware of the partisan bias... and willing to test it... rather than ever accepting partisan political screed either as real "opinion"... or, only the less, as "evidence'... of anything. Opinion is not evidence. And its probably not even real opinion. But, partisans lie about opinion all the time, too... in the hope to win political points...
So, the rules of evaluation are different in Israel than in Iran ?
It's not that hard, though...
In Israel... just ask the question... what would those throwing rocks at Netanyahu now... be doing if it were they that were in power now... so that the issues, for them, had nothing to do with "the need" to engage in political opposition by whatever means available... but were only focused on having to deal with the facts in the situation... which is Netanyahu's problem now... not theirs.
You see that "flip flop" happen all the time in politics...
"Kids in cages" ? Trump solved that problem and ended the humanitarian crisis on the border... by imposing a rational system, that worked... and kept people safe, stopped people from dying in the desert. Obama... and now Biden ? We're back to kids in cages... and people are dying in the desert again... far worse than before. Because... the Democrats political BS about being humanitarians and caring about kids in cages... was total BS. They don't care. They care only about power... will do and say whatever it takes to get it... and kids forced into cages and people left to die in the desert... are no obstacle to them seeking it ?
Note, in Israel, of the political opposition... that their analysis may be in error... but then... they probably are putting politcal self interest ahead of "the facts" ? That's what partisans do. "If" they knew it was error... they'd do it anyway ? Never accept "political opinion" as "fact" or "evidence"... or even as real opinion. Even their opinion is a lie... told for purpose.
Start with the facts... instead... and from them, determine who is lying... how... and why ?
Dissent in democracies is like that... That people are free to dissent... doesn't make them responsible. We must discount opinion, for the fact of others irresponsible choices. Being skeptical is a requirement... and not only skeptical of" the other side"... but of all politicians. And, people do express "opinions"... knowing they are wrong... for the impact that lie produces when others believe it. Their expression of an opinion doesn't make the opinions "honest"... or valid... certainly not evidence of anything... other than "everyone has one"... some are more deliberate and calculated than others.
When you trust the opinions expressed by one side....
That's your mistake...
