Sammy's greatest attribute is his vocal. He's an ok guitarist but when you're in a band with arguably the greatest ever (definitely IMO) then you quietly take a back seat and defer to the Maestro. Great vocal and a competent rhythm guitarist is what he brought to VH. I never got into his solo stuff but his work with Montrose was fantastic.....
