He at least got students to use their minds to think about these things. I'm not sure how common that is in some places.

If one continues to drill down on these questions you eventually hit bedrock.

Imagine the thought process pertaining to the Memphis bridge.

- Yes. It is good for everyone to have roads and bridges.
- But Memphis depends on these bridges for people to get to work. Shouldn't Memphians pan for it?
- But it is one of the busiest truck routes in the country. Doesn't everyone benefit?
- Should we spend may $5-10 Billion to just build a third bridge (which is what Memphis now wants for the good of Memphis, in addition to the repairs).

Of course, it is all infrastructure, unlike most of what is in the proposed infrastructure bill.

USA is allowing a lot of very tough calls to build up while we try to reach some sort of agreement.
