OTOH If the market "recovers" from here, demand on cryptos and many other things will soar.

I think that is not wrong...

But I think it rather points out that cryto everything... is not an alternative to the existing system... but a dependent adjunct of it...

if my speculation... that crypto finding support among the financial literati the last two years... is mostly about them using crypto to facilitate the trade in acquisition of metals... ? It, first, drew demand away from metals... and, it enabled an alternative trading tool to generate potential to convert to metal... and did it under the control of the same futures market manipulations as applied in gold and silver... if applied in opposite sense... up until today, anyway ? The only win/win/win I see out there, now... would be in pairing those trades... long crypto/short metal... using futures markets... to generate cash to acquire metal at lower prices.

The "alternativeness" of crypto versus gold and silver... is forking, today... ?
