To be honest management has been bad for a long time, so the question is, why did anyone purchase them in the first place?

I don't know if T will be better than TMobile or VZ, but I do hold a large position in VZ as well. I do think T's new dividend will provide a yield on par with VZ so now it becomes a matter of whether T can execute going forward with a better balance sheet and a more focused objective. We have plenty of time to see how it plays out. Those dividends are going to continue into next year.

I try to keep things in perspective. It has been reported that the dividend will be cut by 40% so that means I get to keep 60% and it's easier to make up 40% than it is 100% if I were to sell T.

In facing the facts, T blew the streaming opportunity. Why would I want them to keep something they sucked at? This move gets them back to their core business and in my opinion, the odds have increased that they can manage that portion of their business properly.

Stankey did what he could to make it all work and it wasn't working. Maybe the best thing was to admit the mistake and try to correct it.

How many times have we heard, don't chase yield or you'll get burned?

I think too many people were focused on yield alone as opposed to looking at the underlying fundamentals of what a new T will look like. Better balance sheet, focus on the core business, offering people a chance for growth with the new company, sounds like it was a move they needed to make. At least to me it does, but I could be wrong.
