Exactly, Ten.

Which draws one to the inescapable conclusion that popular political issues like racism, economics, local government, etc., are all subservient to partisanship. It is a bizarre concept. I have to first believe in the party, then I can pick from a selection of issues, or just not have any issues. Normally, we expect the issues to define the party.

I've talked of this in the past, but it has never been more evidence than it is today. I recall the time of the late-60s, when the military killing four protestors at Kent State was an outrage, no matter who you were. Today, the question is, "Was the decedent a Trump supporter?", or simply, "Was the decedent a Republican?"

It is always weird to me that some of things I saw as a teen and then a young adult have radically changed yet the party commitment hasn't. Democrats, in 1969, were all about, "Make Love, Not War", yet today, there seems to be no hesitation to create wars. Meanwhile, they literally HATE Trump, who inarguably brought stability and a hope for future peace accords to the Middle East and Israel -- the first test of which is underway and seems to be holding steady. Even Germany is now in the picture as its leadership visits Israel in support of its self defense; but Democrats still side with people who lob rockets into Israel trying to kill innocents.

Today, they still want to get rid of nuclear energy, even though it probably leads to the cleanest environment of all options.

It just seems like they never emerged from 1970 politically.
