Your 18TB drive is likely hard to find now for the same price you paid. There's a new cryptocoin called chia that might not be released yet but miners can already make it. Created by one of the inventors of bittorrent P2P file sharing protocol, it employs spare storage space for its mining algorithm and apparently large HDDs are the most efficient.

I kind of skipped through the video in your other post but did not hear him mention the drought in south Taiwan where TSM is located. There hasn't been enough rain this year so TSM has to truck in water and treat it for its CPU manufacturing. There are shortages up and down the chain from assembly parts up to the giant lithography machines that actually make CPUs. All a result of snafus in a global supply chain system centered on just in time delivery.

Wish I'd known of this earlier because I likely would have played it but one of your favorite online stores, Newegg, has officially gone public via a reverse merger with a Chinese shell that was announced last October. LLIT was the old Chinese turd, and the new ticker NEGG started trading today.
