That is an interesting argument. If AMD had taken a lower risk strategy one or two years ago, and had kept their prices close to or at equivalent levels to Intel, they would have lost some unknown percentage of their business, but their sales could have been profitable. This is based on the assumption that Intel would not have lowered their prices as aggressivly.

But, they adoped an all or nothing strategy. If I were an owner, I would have rather seen the company "fly under the radar" of Intel, slowly build some market share based on profitable business practices.

Going forward from their previous strategy and current position, I agree with you, a roll of the dice is prefered to slowly bleeding to death.
