TJ sorry to disturb but the % of gold in the earth crust and various safes, is much more than the average content of gold in % in the universe according to some scientific papers I read.

The reason is very simple - gold platinum and the associated metals Cu, Ag (group 10 and 11) are the result of nuclear reactions in the liquid around the 2,300KM solid NiFe earth core, @5,400 C give or take.

The rotation of this core generated the magnetic field that shields us from solar radiation/winds and CME or cosmic rays, otherwise we would be like Mars.

The decay of the heavy actinide metals generates by decay all those "so called precious" metals including lead, or bismuth at a time that Boron is much more scares on earth than gold or platinum.

The high pressure inside and around the core burst out generating veins of the "precious metals", but also Co and Cu and in addition as the liquid is also surrounded by carbon generates the Kimberly pikes filled with diamonds which are now also manmade.

Therefore, gold may be precious but not so rare like Boron and gold is continued to be emanated from the above mentioned highly radioactive liquid. That is way also coal ash is very radioactive in most cases.

Dacia was conquered by the Romans for one goal - the gold deposits north of Tapae, (Alba Yulia as an example and furter north) as then gold was a currency and therefore it is a barbarian currency.
