The last two geomagnetic perturbances from good old Sol outperformed official expectations. If it happens a third time, the word "trend" could enter the picture. For this imminent CME peppering, being more Earth-directed, outperformance should provide a better handle on where things stand with our "mysteriously" officially unreported/no longer reported magnetosphere strength.
