| | | I have a ton of tools. Most people organize their tools according to their official usage (e.g. electrical tools, auto tools, woodworking, plumbing, etc). My tools cabinet is organized quite differently and this was not by plan - it is just what was natural to me. I've organized them as cutting tools and tools that grab/bite (pliers, scissors, adjustable wrenches), tools that smash/press (hammers, screw drivers, fixed wrenches), measuring tools (from measuring tapes and shape copiers to electrical voltage testers), safety tools (gloves, goggles, rags...) things that hold other things, etc. etc.
It eventually occurred to me that I have organized my tools this way b/c I am likely to use a tool beyond its designated usage. So I very much appreciate your take on how useful an artist knife can be for things other than art ;)
PS, I've slightly sharpened the edge of one of my painting scrapers (similar to a pallet knife) and it has found other uses and it does its original job better too :) |
