| | | Since you brought it up, I'll throw in my two cents on 'Obummercare'. My wife and I purchased insurance through the exchanges since the program's inception. With both of us self employed we no longer had to worry about pre-existing conditions, which was nice. 2015 was the one year I really needed it, as I had a nasty bought with kidney stones that required a three day hospital stay, a CT scan, an inpatient procedure, and an outpatient procedure, along with a PET scan and other tests later that year. My BC/BS ACA policy covered everything very nicely, no questions asked. Now Biden has removed the income caps for subsidies, so more folks who need it can actually buy it. So, this 'lemming' has a very different view. Yeah, it's not perfect and we can talk all day about the problems on the cost side, but for me it was a positive step. As for blindly following the D's, I always keep in mind what the R's stand for by periodically listening to Reagan's speech about how Medicare would be the 'end of the Republic'.

Edit - I forgot to add that the thread moderator is also on record as stating the ACA may have saved his life as he is a diabetic and the program allowed him to purchase insurance that covered his needs in terms of insulin and other care. |
