Reggie,

>>You obviously have not really used the Office 97 suite. Word/Excel/Access 97 offers the biggest leap in capability that I have ever seen in prodecutivity app releases. As for numbers and sheep, the only sheep are those who don't know how to understand numbers. Ask the investors of NSCP.

Yeah, call up the FAA and ask them how Excel is running on their NT machines. Click on a column and Excel disappears. Its a division-wide problem and the only person running is my friend who refuses to upgrade from Win3.11 to NT. Maybe Office97 internet connectivity widgets and gizmos gives you the ability to design a web-page faster but ask those "ilksters" over at Bechtel what they prefer: dancing paper-clips or background recalculations of spreadsheets.

Please make a list of productivity gains that the average worker can attribute to Office97 and all those wizards? Why do so many people still run Win3.11? Just how many ways can a person add two numbers and print a pie chart better than they could 5 years ago? From the average screen on corporate desktops, it still looks like Solitaire is the power Windows app of choice, 10 years running.

Get real Reg, how many people produce 1200 page websites besides yourself? Name one National Bestseller that could not be written with Word97? Why should I upgrade beyond that? What more can I embed in a document other than QuickTime and Audio-clips? I can buy 2000 scalable fonts and probably go through life never using them all. Juggling the user interface around is not an upgrade, but it makes it sell like one. Sing the chant Reg: Office97 good, Office95 baa-aa-aad.

Cheers,

Norm
