As with the attacks from the left on Obama and HRC; I would deal with Manchin in private; and keep my public attention on the Republican leadership and it's sex traffickers, criminal enablers and groupthink-aligned goosesteppers. Every public message must be to frame the majority of Republicans as the shitstains they allowed themselves to become on the Gingrich/Tea Party/McConnell/Trumper pathway of the last half century.

I would make any deal I could that would win Manchin's voting act vote without delivering WV ultimately to the Republicans. Some kind of deal-- there are many possibilities. I wouldn't waste time publically attacking him thus taking our eyes off the true enemies of democracy. Likewise for the rebels and/or purple state republican senators.

For those of pure ideology who resent political deals, welcome to How Democracies Function 101. As opposed to hierarchical might-makes-right authoritarian religious or one-party systems like Trump and McConnell's ilk dream of.

A busted filibuster is tempting as a way to temporarily seize power and I would keep it on the table; knowing it will deliver powers to the GOP if the Democrats lose the Senate- possibly along with the house and Executive Branch; And they will go and implement the Contract on America + Trump white nationalist nation, and further cement the SCOTUS too.

I drove to San Francisco today. The above-the-law assholes seem to be taking over the US on the roads and freeways. Epicure maybe right; it might be time to think about another country if the Democrats are turned away from power either way.

This whole era and the emerging fragility of democracy is taking us to the brink. And Putin is laughing his ass off.

I assume we all want the same objective here -- maximum voters' rights across races and classes. Combatting the Big Lies.
