Good management and wads of money needed, probably have to destroy some fragile ecosystem somewhere through a mining project, just to maintain that wonderful thatched roof. Then your neighbours can congratulate you for preserving heritage and saving the environment. -g-

There are three roads, running on parallel courses, The main motorway M74, the older version A road, and the even older B road. The two older roads are almost empty of traffic and make wonderful roads for travel for bikes and hikers. The old road cafes are still there, and the big trucks come off the main route to stop at these places as the food is better and half the price.
