Not sure where your reference to "old people" fits into this - some old people can run circles intellectually around people half their age. It is not because they are old - that is only an artifact of them spending their life doing what they have done.

Letting them get off the hook because they are old is foolish (or are you saying there are too many old people - most of whom are people who built the economy we have with our labors?)

Let's keep the narrative factual - people with a lot of money have created a system that is not providing benefits long term - no matter how many checks they send us. Inflation is taxation. Anyone spending with assets we don't have is advocating for inflation.
