100 Mhz mother boards:...AMD leads the way...Intel trying to catch up.

ZP: I've read Tom's review of 100 Mhz boards. Since they will
become the standard, I want my computer to have one.

If I'm going to build one soon, (next six months) my only choice
will be AMD. Intel is running way behind. The processors to run the 100 mhz boards haven't been released.

AMD will require a 400 mhz chip.... Their K-7 set up. Will bring
major competition to Intel.

Intel doesn't have their higher chips out either to run their
100 Mhz boards.

Please review my earlier post: FUTURE CHIPS and FUTURE MOTHERBOARDS

(100 Mhz System Bus for Socket Seven..What Should we Expect?)--towards the bottom.

Is my trading computer best with the K-7 set up? Or do I buy a PII set up now, and then do an expensive motherboard/cpu upgrade when Intel releases theirs?

Great Reading for what's in store.
