Businesswire: Sequans has now licensed BOTH CEVA & Cadence. PR out on JUNE 10.
I have been a bit concerned about the CEVA announcement since the Cadence Tensilica suite is dominant and also it is the basis for the formerly XMM now Apple 4G/5G modem.

Well, well, well. Look what a little searching turned up.

Both companies are licensed and announced. I can’t imagine why the Cadence didn’t get more attention.

I would call this tailwind PLUS it leaves the slim possibility of future work with that big fruit company since they are almost certainly using Cadence Tensillica for their modem work.

A trivia note: the XMM solution used CEVA for its 2 and 3G sections and was the core tech flaw in its future design because of incompatibility with its 4G portion. So, one could speculate that if Sequans is working with Apple in an R&D capacity on JV concepts it might be necessary to have both licenses.

Last, the language in the new PR implies to design is completed.
He June 01 CEVA PR used this language: “ has licensed the PentaG 5G New Radio (NR) IP to power its upcoming 5G platform”
