I agree completely - but it takes a while to learn a job. After 25 or 30 years people have a time-averaged perspective that ie important - but leadership jobs should be given up for emeritus jobs or retirement. In universities, emeritus faculty shouldn't be leading research but may have important insights that are valuable - true in politics too. These two (Pelosi and Feinstein) have done their service and in the case of Feinstein (never a fan anyway) - she moved on to "disservice".
