SHORT INTEREST Itron has 1,278,068 shorts in it as of JAN. 15, 1998. Itrons float is only 6.3 millions shares. Any upgrades or honorable mentions tomorrow could easily send the stock soaring into the low 20's. Itron is trading very near its 52 week low at a price/sales of 1.15 and a price/book of 1.99. Wednesday might lead to the road of recovery. Jeff
