Cost estimate for the PII 400

Anand estimates the cost for the PII 400 in May to be $851

I will guess that a motherboard will be at least $200. That puts us at $1051 if we move on the PII 400 in May.

The cost of the PII 233 (not exactly a dog) is estimated at $209 in the same time frame. With the ABIT LX6 motherboard ( $140) It comes to $349. If I spring for $349 in May I'll have $702 ($1051-$349) to spend on the PII 400 a year from May. I will have a motherboard and a PII 233 to pass on. I will have my PII 400 with its new motherboard and probably some change. Or more likely I will just pull the PII 233 and replace it with the PII 333 for a couple hundred bucks.
