Thread by GRP.....putting a positive perspective on it....

Actually, I'm interested to see how the tribes react since the natural state is for tribes to fight......the BLM tribe says we get a holiday....the rainbow tribe says well it's OUR whole month.....BLM tribe - that's right! Our holiday is right in the middle of your month! We've been cheated....you need to trade your month with ours or this is war! Wait, why is black history month in February anyway? Oh, because it coincided with the birthdays of two famous <now> white supremacists....Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass.....and the founding of NAACP. <g>

To me this is all the more reason to embrace the holiday, it offers a chance to counter the historically ignorant narrative currently being pushed. Those who say America is rotten to its core because its founding was intertwined with slavery only prove their own ignorance...

If it were just a day to celebrate the end of slavery, I would have zero problems with it. But, I think liberals want this because they see it as a day to push the idea that this is, was, and always will be a horrible, racist country that everyone should hate.

Anyone can dissemble the current CRT/Marxist revisionist history push with a simple regurgitation of historical facts - starting with: 1) Slavery existed since time immemorial, it touched every culture, every race, every creed - slavery was THE WAY OF THE WORLD prior to America

1 con't) ... It was not until over a century's worth of Enlightenment philosophy and turmoil culminated in Jefferson's pen inking the Declaration of Independence that "slavery as the normal human condition paradigm" began to change. And it changed quickly.

2) Without the rise of the USA, slavery would still be the norm for humanity, not the exception. It took another 100 years and 620,000+ deaths, but the Civil War (and the USN after the war) were what ACTUALLY ended the Atlantic slave trade, not the British or Abolitionists...

2 con't) ... The USA used its power to smite slave trade while European and African countries were still rolling in the profits from the very trade their legislative bodies "outlawed" in the early 19th century. The Atlantic Slave trade ended BECAUSE of American values. Full stop.

3) The founding of the USA spread liberty, not slavery, to a world that had known nothing but enslavement for millennium. No other country has used its wealth and might more benevolently than the US over its brief 245 year history. Juneteenth proves it.

The current push to label this country and its founding as beholden to slavery or evil is a complete perversion and inversion of historical fact. (aka Marxist) Celebrating Juneteenth is a positive in many ways, it affords everyone the chance to spread truth in the face of lies.
