Thanks for the update. Buyers beware on cryptos. I have had a busy week but now moved.
When I went on my one way trip I had no idea where I was going to end up. I would like to buy a place, Scottish Law is different from English common law so you have to be careful when buying a property, and the Scots can be real sharp on the matter. No "gazumping" here! When you tell someone you are buying a place for such and such, that's it unless you want to tangle with lawyers. So the plan "Plan A" was to rent first then buy later once I knew the area better. The trouble was (and still is) properties put up for rent in the morning on the internet were usually viewed both on line and physically by several prospects and sold by lunchtime. Crazy. The buying/selling property market it's self is not much different.
I was expecting to rent a regular ex council house (sold to residents under Thatcher) "Two up, two down" with a patch of garden that has to be regularly maintained as part of the rental agreement. ... always a pain.
As said though, I lucked out. I have rented a place, and the owner says I don't have to mow any lawns. Quite possibly I may never move again, I might buy a commercial property down the road, they are attractively priced, but in no rush to buy a home.
The place I have moved to is worth at least a dozen Agathe Christi novels but no thatched roofs -g- On the West Coast of Scotland it does rain occasionally and it's not the best climate for thatched roofs. Granite stones and welsh slate are better suited Here are a couple of snippets...
Sea view m my kitchen window.

I have yet to connect up the internet, may take weeks around here. Currently I am using my mobile contract which is EE, but I am told O2 and Vodaphone is much better. I have two lines with EE, and the top of their range, so I have to limp along with EE in the short term. There are only two spots where I have found a reasonable signal, one on my kitchen window (see view) and the other is on a path nearby.

So should be back on the crypto scene any time in the next month or two -lol- not in any rush -g- I have met one of the dozen or so neighbours, A guy from New York who has been here since 2007 or something. He spends most of his time at the nearby chambered cairn, it's on my long list of things to go see. He seems to have dedicated his life to studying it. The set stones are all supposed to shine shadows in highly significant places during solstices, etcetera, so with June the 21st coming up I better get organised.

I am more interested in getting one of my dingy's up here though and launching it from the owners land which goes down to the sea, and that is just the smaller part of it. Although I have most of my stuff, there will have to be another trip down to the South Coast to collect the rest. |
