Wish I had known about this at the time. It would be special to see the Graves and Packard watches together. This is from an era when those with the greatest wealth often built skyscrapers as tall mausoleums to themselves. And these gentleman commissioned custom timepieces that often pushed the boundaries of technology at the time. Those two pocketwatches are foundational in establishing PP as a master of complications. The original Breguet achieved that, some late 19th century Lange pocketwatches achieved that among a few others.

I'd have to do more research on this but am unaware of any American pocketwatch or wristwatch manufacturer making such complicated movements from late 19th to mid 20th century. I hope I'm wrong and please correct me as it would open up a new line of research in my understanding of the history of modern horology. I know American Railroad pocketwatches are still somewhat collectible but the desire for them has always been their precision and reliability and not their complications. 1890-1910 America might compare to 1995-2015 China in being the factory of the world.
