The Jaquet Droz Automatons, this is what supercomputers looked like in the 1700s. The first link is corporate and the last quarter of it tries to tie their past to their present reincarnation. As I understand it the automatons are rare, many reside in museums and in mint condition in private hands can command up to seven figures. Imagine trying to design one of these from scratch in the 1700s.
