We are moving into a furnished rental home next week. I want to buy a few new TVs for the home.

I don't have any knowledge of current tech trends in TVs.

I'm thinking we may buy two TVs, one of them 60-70 inches for the living room, the other 50-65 inches to put on the wall in the bedroom.

I'm thinking to limit it to LG, Sony and / or Samsung.

I'm price conscious (not high end hi tech state of the art), so we will likely pay less than ~$700 for the large TV, and $450-$600 for the slightly smaller TV.

Does anyone have any recommendations for what current technologies (in this price range) I should be sure the TVs have?

Also, in the living room the placement of the bigger TV is in a corner, so a slightly curved TV might work well. Does anyone have knowledge of what are the pros and cons of a slightly curved television?

We are casual TV watchers, and almost always satisfied with the screen quality on the normal TVs we watch. So I don't want to pay top dollar when "bottom dollar" with a nice brand seems fine.

I'm just interested to hear any thoughts on what to look for if, for example, there is a 60 inch TV for $500, another for $520, another for $550, and another for $600, what are some of the features / technologies that might make me inclined to pay $600 rather than $500?

Thanks for any advice!
