China is getting a lot done but you would have to live in China - the difference between now and 1989 when my wife and I were there is nothing short of miraculous. But their government is heavy handed. Even Heathrow is better than most US airports and they do something we should do - they have kiosks where you can punch in how good you thought the customs/airport experience was!! I get the feeling our government and the people that implement their policies don't care - at all. Just harass the cattle and hope to find something out of place by happenstance and luck. Oh and hire ex-gang members as security staff like they did in Oakland a few years back. Frankly, if we haven't gotten the bad guy before they get to the airport - it is sort of too late. Out of millions of people - there is the one they are looking for ... meanwhile outside we have murders by the thousands because any nutter can get a gun. More than ten 9/11s each year from gun violence and many more injuries. Fake security.
