Hi Carl,

No need to be humble. It was an interesting post.

Nice breakout on volume today, although it's over bought to the saturation point. The WSJ ads seem to boost the stock price but so far it doesn't seem to do much for sales. Maybe they could work out a deal with some of the search engines to bring up a banner ad anytime someone does a search on Microsoft. I'll bet ol' Billy would throw a fit. Or better yet, get a hacker to figure out a way to have a Novell window pop up on every Microsoft web page.

I still can't figure out the recent jump in volume over the last week or so. There seems to be a lot of large blocks being traded but it looks like just as many of them are going across at bid as there are at ask. Does that mean that half the "smart money" knows something really bad is going to happen and the other half knows something good is going to happen? Weird.

I don't think a person has to have something of substance to contribute. At least to my knowledge it's never been a prerequisite in the past. Besides, knowing that a potential rumor might be heating up is useful information, even if the rumor itself is silly.

The SEC takes a very dim view on insiders leaking information about buy outs and mergers. If it ever happens, it will come out of the clear blue sky, without any warning, and there will be press releases from the companies involved all over the place. There have been so many goofy rumors about Novell that you could probably even get in at a decent price. Nobody would believe it actually happened.

Regards,

Don
