Ah- it has nothing to do, really, with "level of service"- it has everything to do with "quality of life". White "privilege" doesn't mean every restaurant meal is 4 star- but it does mean you get to go through life never being penalized for the color of your skin. You seem really hung up on protecting the word privilege without it's "white" adjective. WHITE privilege is the ability of white people to go through the world with white glasses on and never see things from the perspective of people of color. That world can be quite "ordinary" seeming, but only because white people are so used to not being treated like black people.

Privilege, by itself, is different than white privilege. White privilege allows you to say things like, "I don't see color"- lol, you don't see it because you don't have to. White privilege let's you say things like, "Blacks and whites have it the same now." (Or, God forbid, that they have it "better".) It takes a position of privileged ignorance to say things like that. It is a privilege not to have to worry about your skin color and what that might mean when you interact with anyone else- from medical personnel to the police. There really is no other word for it than privilege.
