Most of the dogs I've had were not dog friendly. Saved me from having to go to the dog park. They were particularly loyal and one in particular would go out of her way to make sure other dogs steered clear of me. We live in a very rural area, and I we hear coyote quite often, but I've only seen one. We ran into a skull of a coyote in the wood when we were hunting mushrooms last yr. Our most frequent visitors are bears, so we have to keep our garbage can in the garage at night. Deer are scarce this yr for some reason? Maybe because we finally finished the last of the deer fencing around the gardens , and they can't get their appetizers anymore. <G>
