From our OT on Dog Chat :)

Lots of rain yesterday Bob.. we needed it.. starter will be fine just tiny comparably.. no 40 tomatoes and 40 peppers.. no potatoes this year :(.. I went with more vertical growers that climb..

Interesting about the sand .. I toss in some play sand especially for the root crops.. to get that sandy loam effect.. are there advantages to cement/builders sand u have found which are a bit courser but typically clean also.. ? The play sand is just convenient.. although previous owner had an above ground pool with large sand base.. pool is gone.. Next spring I will rent a small skid steer or stand on one maybe after deciding over the winter on plans.. I will scrape up the sand too I figure for a nice long lasting supply ;)

I am going to need many yards of soil so small loader will be a big time saver
