And you are correct, that China can only do what China can do, and up to others to follow or standstill or go in the other direction. The planet did all three, w/ Taiwan most enthusiastic and USA least, and India simply not reporting, at that January / February 2020 juncture.
When we embarked for journey to eventual red zone of S Africa at end-Feb 2020, I thought I was going on safari holiday, believing as the USA did, that the virus was no big deal.
No of course I am far more careful w/ a voluntary risky act, of engaging with vaccination, and if forced to choose this day, go with the least risky vaccine, only if I knew which one that is, balancing efficacy against side effects against the infection all per probabilities.
