IAIC Client, US Air Force, Announces Soaring Y2K Costs

A report in this week's Federal Computer Week indicated that the USAF has INCREASED its estimate to fix its 2,944 computer systems for the Y2K problem by $217 MILLION to $622 MILLION.

The USAF's CIO revealed that its current budget could handle this increase expense.

Last May, IAIC announced that it had successfully completed a Y2K project AND performed a simultaneous migration using a date expansion approach for the USAF at Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex. In addition, a second larger remediation and migration project had been initiated for the USAF by IAIC.

In addition, last April IAIC announced that Lt. General Charles A. May, Jr. had been appointed to their Board of Directors. Mr. May was a retired 3-star general for the USAF where he served as Assistant Vice Chief of Staff.

Tick, tick, tick ...!

Regards.
