Voisey's Bay Nickel Company says its resolved differences it had with an Inuit magazine.

K.I. Magazine, published in English and Inuktutut, is funded by the company. Voisey's Bay Nickel has been withholding funding because it had problems with the magazine's contents.

The magazine ran a story and several pages of photographs on last summer's protest against the company's attempt to build a road and airstrip. K.I. editor Peter Evans says in conversations with him, the company was vague, but said it had problems with the way the mining industry was portrayed. Evans says it's an ugly tactic for the company to withhold cheques.

VBNC spokesman Bob Carter says the company and K.I. Magazine have worked out their differences. The second of four cheques was forwarded to the magazine last week...a third is still owing.
