My rust issue was esthetic on the playset.. using teenuts gave me exposure at both ends.. the hex head gets scored by the ratchet socket etc.. Strength not an issue... Bob embedding the lags in the wood means they outlast the wood for sure... His first bed is 10+ years ? so no worries .. I will also countersink and likely just fill over with construction adhesive ie to seal ... A little anal but I like to build to last... Whoever buys my place when I pass will hopefully appreciate the beds or curse how solid they are when removing LOL Not worried about outlasting the beds.. Bob and I are not far apart age wise.. beds will outlast us :)

Hot dip always made the product sound a little sexy :) I am familiar with both the stainless and galvanized in a larger setting .. Family had a Chinese food biz in QC.. sold Canada wide and in US to a lesser extent.. Dad was engineer who designed most of their food production equipment... Things to make eggrolls, dimsum etc etc... so stainless especially was required... was sold to McCain a decade and a half agao... who I believe just recently resold..
