Vast reparations will be needed to cover those vast millennia of conquest and conflict. Tarken-san was named after Tarkan of Turkish fame, with a primary activity of Tarkan being to ride on his horse with pet wolf to do battle with the evil and cruel Chinese. I didn't know in the 1970s that there was so much horrible ancient history that was still bubbling around ready to come virulently to the fore again decades later. I had thought all those horrible times were bygone history. We thought the Turks we met were wonderful people and similarly for the many Chinese I grew up among [and that my mother did 100 years ago in Shanghai/Dalian]. We didn't name our son after who we thought were bad people.

I had a great great grandfather died from wounds from Crimea [Crimean War]. Now, we have the absurd British thinking again it a good idea to sail warships through "Ukrainian" waters which are actually Crimean and are now part of Russia as Crimea has been for centuries = about as long as USA was part of England which took possession of North America not many centuries ago. Come to think of it, USA conquered Hawaii and claimed it longggg after Russia conquered and claimed Crimea back in the mists of times that your book covers.
Maybe China/Russia should sail warships through Hawaiian waters and claim them back for Aotearoa-Zimbabwe [previously New Zealand] which is the rightful owner along with Cook Islands which had a vast Pacific Ocean empire a thousand years ago, long before the Mayflower and long before Captain Cook was killed and eaten at Hawaii.
Tit for tat and all that. Meanwhile, Japan, USA, Oz, India UK, Euro should sail warships around Taiwan and inside the South China Sea claiming restoration of bygone times. And into Hong Kong harbour to free the Hong Kongese from Emperor Pooh Xi's clutches. Maybe pay China or Taiwan for the value of the Hong Kong rock as it was when the lease was agreed and Hong Kong became separated from China - other than a historical piece of paper which became obsolete as millions created Hong Kong out of nothing much at all. You are so lucky to have me as an expert to advise on what should happen in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Hawaii, Crimea and let's throw in Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Norfolk Island and more.

PS: If China will help me recover Hawaii for Aotearoa/Rarotonga/Polynesia, we will provide a winter palace for Emperor Pooh Xi right here in Aotearoa/Hawaii to escape the bitter Peking winter [Rarotonga could have direct flights from Beijing/Shanghai]. We should include American Samoa, Tahiti, Easter Island, Tonga, Niue, but maybe not Fiji. Hmmm, maybe Palau, Marshall Islands, whatnot. |
