If you manage to eradicate the gout weed, I will want to know. The previous owner had it everywhere and I tried everything short of napalm bombing and failed. I once dugout a 3 foot strip, got rid of every gout weed, put black plastic on the top of it, and they mushroomed under the plastic. The only thing that sort of worked was when I dug out the ground, cleaned it out and instead of black plastic put in a raised flowerbed with weedmat under it. In that case they crawled under the flowerbed to the other side. The weed is at the border with my neighbour. For some reason it doesn't spread deep into his land and keeps growing into mine.
