CUP W/HANDLE, CHARACTERISTICS OF HANDLE: Forming of handle usually > 1-2 wks., preferably in downward price drift or price "shakeout", extreme volume dry ups will normally occur near the lows in the price pullback phase. When handles do occur they should form in the upper half of the overall base structure, above the 200 DMA. Pivot point - volume should increase at least 50%. It's not uncommon for new market leader to increase in daily volume 500-1000% during a "major breakout"....
