The "noise" is predictable enough...

I don't think it has anything much to do with ethnicity... which is not saying China is any less racist than any other place... as China has no unique claims to make about Chinese being blind to differences...

But, there's no mystery in how China's CCP feels about religion... or cultures that embrace it... which also is not unique to China, but is a feature of the shared legacy in corrupt ideology, that has adherents to the belief in the infallibility of government power as a good (as long as that's them)... opposing any competition in which religious belief "might" be seen as competing with the interest and power of the state in imposing itself as an (dubiously) infallible pseudo God...

The left not the only locus of that brand of too common human error... as I note often enough in including that element under the rubric "no difference between communists, capitalists and kings... other than who gets to be king". The cultural belief in the superiority of some cult-like figurehead... as Japan's belief in the divinity of the emperor... not far removed in history... or from China's history of the same thing... not different than Korea's crazy Kim's... or Britain's King George the 3rd... all about as infallible and as worthy as Jim Jones was ? I don't get that element in attachment to "royalty"... or its diversion into belief in the pseudo-divinity of the power of the state as an alternative... as God by committee.

So, China's treatment of "difference"... is no beacon of Justice for anyone to emulate, neither in its "purity" as the propaganda would have it... or in its "accomplishment"...

That's a brand of delusion that's not different than the left here, either...

The only real difference... between China's choices and those of others of like mind... is that it is only in China, today, that the left's strategic interest in "fostering differences" is replaced with "fostering unity" through overt acts of oppression... which Democrats here want so badly... they can almost taste it...

No surprise to thinking people in the west... that the left is not any different today than it has proven itself to be historically... since the blood letting of the French Revolution... and how many times, since ?

China "reinventing socialism"... in a form with "Chinese characteristics"... seems as uniquely Germanic in its origins and consequence as the prior stab at implementing Germanic ideas about Communism were... National Socialism, in China, seems to me it is about equally and uniquely Chinese as Marxism was...

Taiwan is China. Hong Kong is (was) China. China... is Germany... with Chinese people acting as mimics replaying scenes of Germany's prior social and ideological greatness.

Perhaps Germans were a bit less careful in their promotion of the benefits of German spas for those Jewish visitors being better integrated with the rest of German society ?

China, today, is somewhat less intently insane re the aspect of eugenics as (American and German) NAZI's were... so the genocide is only "enabled" by the Chinese view of "lesser" in racial aspects... but is fueled by the same leftist intensity in those monomaniacal socio-political elements that communists share with other leftists, that China today has not left behind... while opting for a National Socialist vision of that instead of a full blown Marxism. It is all of the same ilk... including the insanity of its serial outcomes proving no limit to the willingness to try again... and the insanity of its attachments to "great leaders"... who aren't great.

There are distinctions that matter in one ideology versus another... but, there are also shared elements in myopia... that vary much less than seems reasonable to an observer who is not careful in parsing the origins of ideas... and the madness of crowds ?
