I am not going to speculate on the family dynamics that led i-node to claim he doesn't know the names of his grandparents. But few families are like that. There is a family Bible on my Dad's side that lists ancestors back to when they came to America in the 1820s. Now on my Mom's side, it is a bit fuzzier since most of them were in Appalachia. But even so, I know their names and some of lineage.
