[Security Tip] Disable JavaScript Execution in PDF Viewer in Mozilla Firefox
askvg.com

Shorter version of the procedure - Enter about:config in the url bar and press enter. If you haven't used about:config before you will have to "Accept the Risk and continue". Set pdfjs.enableScripting to false.

I might have already been covered by No Script disabling java-script in Firefox except for sites I white list or temporarily white list, but I'm not 100 percent sure that it covers PDFs. Even if it does this probably provides a a bit of extra protection as say someone posted a pdf directly to a site I ordinarily trust, and the site itself is OK other then the malicious PDF file. I would have whitelisted the site to use it so the script in the pdf would have run. So I blocked it using the method from the link above.
