Bullshit. The difference between crack and cocaine sentencing was based on the perception of the problem each created. It cannot be racism unless the disparity was aimed at punishing Blacks more harshly than Whites and that simply did not occur. Sentencing guidelines were difference because it was perceived that crack was a bigger and more destructive problem.

Which surely was correct. Crack results in a far more intense but short lived dopamine release. Over time, this will result in more serious and addictive consequences. Lawmakers responded emotionally and made the sentencing guidelines different. I know of no case where blacks were targeted. No one was thinking “We can put some blacks in prison with this one! They were trying to figure out where to house people.

Also, it is just a fact: people using crack tend to be broke and steal to support addiction. Coke addiction is far less demanding.
